The most common method series used within the studio is Piano Adventures.  Piano Adventures offers a suite of books suitable for all ages and from complete beginners to those playing at around grade 3 level.  The series is comprehensive enabling the development of a good piano technique alongside a sound understanding of music theory - all while performing a wide range of repertoire.

Whichever method is chosen for the student's journey, standard method material will always be supplemented with a variety of materials to keep lessons varied, comprehensive and engaging for the particular student's interests.  I use a variety of supplementary materials from a number of publishers and keep up to date with new releases through a variety of forums, conferences and expos.

If the student choses, assessments in both practical piano and music theory can be taken through the ABRSM.  

ABRSM is the UK’s largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers and the world’s leading provider of music exams, holding over 650,000 assessments in more than 90 countries every year. 

Their mission is to nurture a love for music, and to inspire achievement in it. In partnership with the Royal Schools of Music, ABRSM support music-making and learning across the globe, offering pathways and resources for learners and teachers that help build musical skills and encourage progress.
